FAQ

If you are experiencing challenges in your life, feeling stuck, or seeking guidance and support, therapy or coaching may be beneficial. It is important to have a willingness to explore your emotions, engage in self-reflection, and be open to personal growth. Together, we can determine if therapy or coaching is the right fit for your specific needs.

My approach is integrative, drawing from various therapeutic techniques and modalities. I focus on creating a safe and non-judgmental space where we can explore your concerns, set goals, and work towards positive change. I emphasise the mind-body connection and provide evidence-based techniques to support healing and personal growth.

I have experienced more and more people seeking counselling support due to being in a toxic relationship, which results in deep feelings of shame and unworthiness. As a result of this, I have done further research and training in narcissistic abuse and trauma to understand the causes and recovery treatment.

You may currently be in an unhappy relationship or have recently ended one. If this was an emotionally abusive relationship it would have left you feeling;

Confused? The experience of gaslighting can leave you doubting yourself and your reality.

Like you are going crazy, as you would have been manipulated to believe it's all in your head.

Lacking in self-esteem, as the narcissist would have made sure they destroyed that for you.

Depressed - Due to the disrespect and disregard you have been treated with

Not Good Enough: From the constant put-downs and criticism

Anxiety: due to the fear of saying or doing the wrong thing that would cause them to fly into a rage.

If this all sounds familiar, I do hope you can find the courage to reach out and get the counselling support and healing that you so deserve.

Not all emotional abuse happens in an intimate relationship. The narcissist in your life could be a parent, a friend, a sibling, or a manager.

You may feel that your relationship with your parents wasn't as you would have wished it to be, and they didn't treat you with the love and respect you deserve. You may have a difficult relationship with them because of the choices they made during your childhood. Having emotionally immature parents can be incredibly damaging to our sense of self and deeply affect us in the future, including our relationships with them and others.

You may need to learn to create boundaries and not accept behaviour from others that doesn't make you feel good or is meant to hurt you.

Let's not underestimate the damage and trauma that can be caused by a relationship with a narcissist. It is always emotionally abusive but can also include physical, mental, sexual, or financial abuse.

It's likely they would have criticised and belittled you, manipulated and gaslighted you, and probably humiliated you in front of other people. A narcissist will never take responsibility or accountability for anything and will always look to blame others. They are not interested in the truth, only its reality, which always shows them in a good light.

Well, what I can tell you now is that it is not your fault that the relationship hasn’t worked. A relationship with a narcissist will never be healthy or fulfilling. But as long as you stay in the relationship, you are enabling that behaviour.

Counselling support can help you find the strength to leave the relationship if you have the means to. It can also help you heal by looking at yourself, reconnecting with your true identity, and developing self-compassion and self-awareness.
